| Main project activities planned |
Ηighlighting the cultural monuments of the cross-border areas, which will stand out and strengthen the tourist flows in terms of sustainable development. Εco-innovation and attract additional investment and private funding within the border area. The main target of this action is to create the opportunity of supporting the diversification of the tourism product and invest in lesser-known destinations of high potential.
Accessibility improvement in historical monuments and sites of cultural heritage in the cross-border area, including remote sites.
Promotion of cross-border cultural initiatives (joint actions and cultural events, Digitalization of cultural content and cultural routes), building or improving existing museum spaces |
| Expected outputs and results |
Create gentle -alternative forms of tourist development such as mountaineering, religious and spa tourism. Furthermore, cultural tourism highlighting in elements of tradition, such as music, cooking, architecture, clothing, etc. will help to mutual understanding and enhance cultural exchanges. These actions of small projects (e.g. food, music, folklore festivals) under SPF, will subsequently trigger the spark for local and regional economic development to entities/ enterprises in the field of sports / recreational / natural / cultural activities using private funding and other european funds to improve financial self-sustainability and to revitalize the countryside and keep the youth in their area. |
