Today, the official launch of the project activities at the Bansko archaeological site in North Macedonia was marked by the presence of the Minister of Local Self-Government, Zlatko Perinski, and the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Zoran Ljutkov and the IPA CBC Coordinator Stefan Vangelski. . The event highlighted the start of the implementation phase of the CulTour Crossing Borders project, which -for North Macedonia – will contribute to the preservation, revitalizationand promotion of the Late Roman Baths in Bansko as an important cultural and tourist destination.
In North Macedonia, the project includes the restoration and revitalization of the Roman Baths in Bansko, the construction of a visitor information center, installation of photovoltaic systems, development of visitor pathways, and protective infrastructure to improve access and conservation of the site. A steel protective structure will also be installed to safeguard the archaeological remains.
